2022 Pinot noir - gamay rose
93 Points - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
Made with Gamay and Pinot Noir. Incredibly fresh-faced style but with a lot more to it besides. Red cherry and watermelon flavours with ginger beer, apple cider, orange blossom and musk. Take a sip and choose your own adventure. There’s texture here, chalky and spicy with it, but the wine’s juiciness takes precedence. In short, it’s ripper drinking. 93 Points - Steve Leszczynski, Q Wine Find a bucket of ice and sip this by the pool when the summer sun demands you drink something cool - what a classy bone dry Rosé we have here. A blend of Gamay and Pinot Noir, this is glistening with rhubarb, bright red cherries and watermelon husk before strawberries and a whisper of mandarin peel add fine detail. A fine sheet of creaminess coats the mouth and rolls out to a moreish finish. Dry, chalky and sprinkled with fine spices, there is some red apple crunch factor on close for the win - yum! A large pour for me, please. 91 Points - James Suckling, jamessuckling.com Aromas of red apples, sliced strawberries and rosemary stem. Medium-bodied with silky texture. Bright and zippy on the palate with steady acidity. Fruity. A blend of pinot noir and gamay noir. |
2021 GaMAY ROSE
93 Points - Mike Bennie, The Wine Front
Gamay is the messenger. Delicious rose. Vivacious, bell ring clear, strawbs and raspbs, a squirt of cranberry, dry, a light savoury note and some excellent weight yet freshness. Brilliant balance of elements, general sense of incredible drinkability. It sets me in a mood for more rose. Charming. Wonderful stuff. 91 Points - Jane Faulkner, Wine Companion It’s always cheery to see new-vintage rosés appearing around the traps because it signifies summer is on its way. Made from gamay, this cool rendition is an appealing pastel cerise and offers such a spicy, peppery bouquet alongside florals and fresh herbs. It tastes of watermelon and morello cherries, with bracingly fresh acidity driving it. It has a slick of texture and a dab of sweetness, although it's certainly a dry, savoury style. |
